Yeah I saw it on Saturday, a day after I posted that comment. I get it now. Beautiful, powerful, and very emotional movie. Mozart's Lacrimosa was beautiful in here too. Best WW2 Soviet drama movie ever.

This movie captures the horrors of the Vietnam War. Can you imagine being in that bunker at 1:39:10 ? And your sergeant telling you he'll be right back and to stay put and fend off the incoming silent shadows of death? What a horrible war. Thank you to ALL veterans. I am so sorry a lot of you had to experience these things. Świetna muza. Add spanish subtitle please... And here I was thinking he was gonig to review the alternate suicide ending of It's a Wonderful Life...

Take off probably the first 5 on your list and add Platoon, The Pacific, Saving Private Ryan (besides all the actors being too old) The Big Red One and Das Boot (as others have said here.
One of the most harrowing films I´ve ever seen... Severely overlooked and should be counted among the best war films of all time.
I am from Russia and I see that many here misinterpret the last scene with the shooting of Hitler's portrait. Its meaning is quite simple, but for some reason it is difficult to comprehend Western thinking - you are fascists, but we are not fascists, we do not kill children, even if they grow up Hitler. I advise you to watch the movie Peace incoming. Fragment. You forgot to mention the movie Beloved. Pojdi in glej Watch stream. Pojdi in glej Watch stream new. So its been restored than why the hell is it still hard to watch. Students in my sophomore English class at Pueblo Magnet High School in Tucson, Arizona, have just watched this movie as part of a classroom assignment. They are now writing an essay comparing "Come and See" to the book "Night" by Elie Wiesel.
In short, both book and movie are about teenage boys who go through horrific ordeals during WWII. Both have many of the same themes, including racism, hope, transformation, loss of innocence, death, fire, premonitions, historical accuracy, point of view, revenge, family, religion, symbolism and irony.
Just as the book commanded students' interest, Come and See" was spellbinding. The images are powerful. Indeed, I consulted with others before deciding to show this movie even though it probably would be rated PG-13 in this country. And although some scenes are graphic, the movie is terrifying because of what's left to the imagination. I think "Come and See" has indelibly stamped the evil of war on students' minds.
After showing some scenes a second time, I had students rate this movie. A total of 82 students voted, giving the movie nearly an "8. I'm now looking forward to reading their essays to learn more about their opinions and insights about this astounding movie.
Pojdi in glej Watch. This was a criminal batallion, all convicts. Hahahaha this is awful. WTF. Do not watch this. Especially don't listen. Watch it with Subtitles. Hahaha this is absurd. Really really really bad. This is the best war movie that many people have missed. Has anyone on here seen it? I would love to hear them talk about that movie, if they experienced it, id be so happy. 1988 , . ... This movie makes almost every other war film with a couple of exceptions look like cartoons. It's not nice to watch. Quite the opposite. It's harrowing and fills you full of revulsion.

Like some of the other commentators I watched this movie with subtitles on channel 4 at 3am one weekday in 1993/4? with my then teenage son. The TV guide rated it as one star. (Always a chance then it might be really good.) Dave was studying for his ALevel Media Studies but we didn't really need an excuse. Our family are all voracious consumers. So we stayed up late and We watched. This is a long movie and by the end we both sodden with tears, every part our body's anguished by the sheer visceral immediacy of the horror. This is a truly remarkable film experience. The news of the Beslan School massacre recently reminded me of how we had felt and I had to ring Dave to get the title but he remembered it too. He said it was the most 'impactful? film hes seen I am so glad other film buffs on this site feel that too, as no one I know personally, saw it that night.
Bottom right-down-corner. I saw this movie one night on Film4 in the UK, I had just turned the tv on by chance, and I had no idea what it was I was watching. Immediately I was drawn into the film and felt as if I was sharing in the emotions of the characters. I had no concept of time or of how long I had sat there watching it. The images from the film especially from the main character have haunted me all my life, but I didn't know what the film was called until now. Thank You. Jon.
